Statement of Health Management Promotion of the Mitsui Kinzoku Group

Mitsui Kinzoku Group aims to continue contributing to society through products of value. In order to achieve this goal, we consider the physical and mental health of all Group employees and their families to be an important management issue. The health of employees and their families is the foundation for employees to lead fulfilling lives and fully express their individuality and abilities, and for the Group to increase productivity and improve business performance. We are committed to contributing to society by making the Group even more vibrant through activities to maintain and promote the health of employees and their families.

Promotion System

Mitsui Kinzoku Group promotes initiatives to maintain or improve the employee’s health, establishing cooperative relationships with general affairs department of headquarters and general affairs/human resources department at each site so that the initiatives are well performed at the whole company.

Our Initiatives

Regarding employees’ mental health, the stress check has been conducted in accordance with the Industrial Safety and Health Act. The stress check in FY2023 shows that 14.4% of the subjects of the test have high levels of stress, which is an increase of 0.1% from the previous fiscal year.

We continue to engage in group-wide stress reduction activities by enhancing mental health training through our own e-learning system (MLP), and to provide support to further reduce the number of high-stress employees.

In addition, through internal announcements, workshops, and events, we will promote health maintenance and promotion activities not only for our employees but also for their families to create a more vibrant organization. As an indicator of health management, the rate of employees receiving a detailed examination based on the results of health checkups in FY2022 was 44.0%. The percentage of employees absent from work for more than one month in a row or on leave was 1.3% for mental reasons and 0.9% for physical ones. In order to improve these figures, we will promote measures such as reinforcing medical examination recommendations, making the consultation service more widely known, and reinforcing interviews with employees who work long hours.
